Coaching Expectations

Becoming a BRYC recreational coach is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in your players' lives while contributing to their growth both on and off the field. As a coach, your commitment includes time spent guiding your team in practices, games, and essential communication to foster a positive and supportive environment.

To help you better understand the expectations and responsibilities of a recreational coach, we've outlined key areas in the table below. These include your weekly time commitments, game-day duties, and available resources to support your success throughout the season.

Responsibility Details
Weekly Practice Juniors:  One practice per week for one hour

All others:  Two hours per week, either split into two sessions or combined into one session.
Weekend Games 1.5 hours per week, including setup and breakdown.
Communication and Coordination 1 hour per week for emails, scheduling, and team coordination.
Season Games 8 games during the season.
All-Star Coaching (Optional) Opportunity to coach additional All-Star games if desired.
Resources and Support Access to Coaches' Corner for resources, guidance, and training tools.
